6: AUGUST 2008 (1/3)

Our summer mission has just finished. Roof is almost completed. A new project time-table has been prepared as you can see in the summary where you can find details and costs. Next works will begin at the end of september. Project costs, unluckily, increased.

Today the school runs 10 classes: 6 (CL 1-6) in the old building and 4 (CL7-10) in the new one. One classroom in the old building now is closed and used as a storehouse for old material. It means that CL1 has been unified with kindergarten. Thirteen teachers work in the school now of which, 10 officialy paid by the government and 3, working part-time and paid by local community or social organizations from Kathmandu.

Unfortunately the food program of UNDP stopped. Nonetheless in the classroom previously used as a storehouse for food the school provides an educational program concerning environment (held by the Himalayan Eco-Club in collaboration with WWF Nepal) for students of the secondary level.
