STARTING: PREPARATION OF THE PROJECT

In summer 2006, two of us, Alessandro e Roberto, left Italy to reach the village where the school is settled. It has been our first inspection (see pictures).. Come back to Italy (autumn-winter-spring 2006/2007) we have requested to the Department of Biology in Milan and to the Ev-K2-CNR committee (for which institutions Roberto works in Nepal) an official partnership. We prepared necessary papers, we met them and thereafter the gave us their positive response and their logistic help (spring 2007). After, the last step, we created this association (spring-summer 2007).

In summer 2007, Alessandro and Roberto go back to Nepal, officialy as a Sundari Baini Onlus team. In one year condition is already strongly improved. Local people finished to build the new building already under construction the previous years. So two classes have been added. Today the school runs 9 classes. Four classes have been running in the new site (CL6-9) and 6 in the old one (1 kindergarten + CL1-5). One classroom in the old building has been dismessed as in too bad condition and it works as a store for displaced furnitures. In the expedition has been established, in agreement with the local community in Bhalayadanda and with the local NGO, what have to be done and how. Now situation is clear: in Nepal there are people monitoring the development of the project, while we work in Italy to provide the necessary support.

September 2007: we have prepared all necessary material, we have transformed our idea in a detailed project. With our own money we did brochures, posters, documents. We prepared pictures and a short-movie to be shown. Lastly, we bought a domain and we invented a website. December 2007: we start.
