2: JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2008

Hari Shresta (Ev-K2-CNR-Kathmandu Committee) and Shiva Lamicchane (Langtang Foundation) met in January 2008 to plan subsequent works and discuss how we are going to support the development of the project.

Our first step will entail supplying the necessary funds for the construction of water collection systems on the left side of the site and for building the last part of the foundations. Furthermore, thanks to the contribution made by the Rasura District Education Office, we are going to build the ground floor of the building, which will house three classrooms.

On the 22nd of January 2008, Shiva Lamicchane and Krishna Das (Ev-K2-CNR) (first and second on the right in the top picture) took a trip to Bhalaya Danda village to verify how the works are progressing. The pictures we supply were sent to us on the 24th of January 2008 by Shiva Lamicchane.

About €3000 will shortly be sent to Nepal (February-March 2008). The works will be supervised on site. Every month we are going to receive an update on the latest developments directly from Katmandu. Subsequently, another €1500 will be sent over to provide for the completion of the infrastructures for the drainage of water during the Monsoon season.

Should everything run smoothly, without any mishaps, in two months the ground floor of the building will be complete. This is the plan as agreed by Langtang Foundation, Sundari Baini Onlus, and Ev-K2-CNR in February 2008.
