12: MAY 2010 (1/2)

Dear friends, school looks really well now, more elaborate and interesting. Now it deserves and requires a superior effort by the locals: teachers, students' relatives, and whole community. Next step is the main: manage the school in the new site. Now they can choose were to place different classes, where to settle the office (teachers room) and the library. Moreover on June 1st there will be the selection for the new Math and the new Science teachers. The former, we met the old one during our previous visits, Mr. Madan Bhatta, has resigned. It's a pity, we know him personally, a good teacher, we understand his desire to go back home in the far west of Nepal. We have published on different daily newspapers (Kantipur in nepali, Himalayan times in english, and Trishuliprawaha in nepali), the calls to select the new teachers.

It has been interesting to know what happen since our last visit in February. A medical canadian student, Ms. Mary Katharine Weeks, visited the village in april and held at the school a First Aid course (see picture beside). In April also two women from U.S., Mrs. Jennifer Gerard and Mrs. Tania Kurkaa (you can see them below in the teachers' room of the school) visited the school and donated books for the new library. They showed vivid interest for the school and the village and they expressed their will to support the school in the future.
