VOLUNTEERING

Dear Friends,

we consider volunteering spending positive time in the school and in the village where our project developed. We need people who like to teach English to the children of the school and to some adults. We don't need mothertongue english speakers, just people who speak a good english. We ask volunteers to be open and to be also propositional towards people they will meet. The only presence of the volunteer in the village is known, felt and observed. English is important for them, but in the school we ask volunteers to be responsible towards the kids and, why not, if they feel they can give also some good advice from our western experience to the teachers. They will experienced local people needs. The direct and indirect impact of the volunteer reaches many people in the surroundings. The village is small with other villages in the surroundings.

Participate with people what you do, we think volunteers are useful to help villagers understanding the importance of good education for their kids. To reach our target or to get closer to it our idea is simple: if somebody likes it, we explain where and when and how to move, what to do, people to speak with, everything. You can move to the village when you like according to the school calendar.

WE DON'T ASK MONEY. Volunteers come to Nepal and face expences by themselves. When volunteers arrive to Nepal we give indications where to sleep and we can give assistance. Volunteers meet people involved in the project and everything will be explained. If requested volunteers will be picked up at the airport and brought to the hotel. Volunteers will pay by themselves all their expenses of food, lodging and transportations. In the village they will live with a local family. It is the costum that volunteers pay some money to the family, something like 3-5 US$ per day, but you will see this is base indication. The Hotel we suggest in Kathmandu is cheap-budget and confortable. Hotel's personnel will help you to get to the village.

If you are already in Kathmandu and you wish to make some volunteering you can contact directly Roberto Boesi (by email or by phone) and Raj Kumar Bujel at Mount Annapurna Guest House (Jyatha, Thamel, www.mountannapurnaguesthouse.com) or call directly Jhabaraj Neupane (9841775043, email: jhabaraj@hotmail.com). They will explain to you how to reach the village and how to perform your volunteering. Here you can find some DETAILS and the contacts you need.

You can write for any information. Below, you find the dates from the school calendar when we can easily invite volunteers. There is not a minimum time requested to come, only we think that 15 days it is a base to start...for you, to get something from them, and for them, to get something from you.
